On December 1, 1958, a fire broke out in the basement of the Our Lady of the Angels School in Chicago; ninety-two children and three nuns perished as a result.  Jim Gibbons will present an informative program about this terrible tragedy, based on newspaper articles, eyewitness accounts, and a personal connection.

The McHenry County Transition group will be showing the 2011 documentary (67 minutes, Not Rated) about the economic movement towards localization, rather than towards globalization.  Afterwards, there will be a discussion of the movie plus an introduction to the Transition Initiative.
